i think in arabic the main cluase precedes the subordinate cluase
and its more correct to start with the verb
لقد تخلت تلك المنظمة عن المشروع ل / بسبب نقص التمويل
ادعت ان والديها _اسم ان منصوب بالياء لانه مثنى و الخبر هو الجملة الفعلية هجرا في محل رفع -هجراها و هي في الخامسة من عمرها
تخلت سوزان عن عقيدة طالما امنت بها
ان هذا القصر مهجور
we add ان for emphatic reason
always concentrate on the meaning . after translation u have t make the reader of the translated text feels that its original not translated

i think there is a small trouble in this sentence thats due to the structural differences in the 2 lagnguages. why the translator translated the the word كنا in " we knew the truth " ?its simply عرفنا الحقيقة dont agree with me?
the translater translated the pronoun "we " and also added" نا الفاعلين" which is found in arabic structure but not in english
so the sentense becomes لقد تلقى صدمة عندما اخبرناه عرفنا الحقيقة
the sentence still not coherent hence we can manage and paraphrase t
لقد تلقى صدمة عندما اخبرناه بمعرفتنا الحقيقة /اننا عرفنا الحقيقة

تنازل الملك عن العرش العام الماضي
the translator committed the same error here. because the is no preposition in the english sentence "last year ",he translated t without a preposition.
لقد تخلى / تنازل الملك عن العرش في العام الماضي

أمقت العنف وأبغض أفلام العنف
hmmm do think thet there a big difference between the word امقت and its synonym ابغض ? i dont think so. hence its unnecessary to repeat the word if it doesnt add anything new. moreover, why did the translator trasnlate violent films افلام العنف ? there is a rhetorical difference between violent film and films of violence. sadly, you lost the metaphor.

عاشوا في فقر متقع لسنوات
excellent, you've got the arabic collocation فقر متقع but dont you feel that the shade of meaning of the phrase " for years" means for long years?
why not translate it? in addition, u can drop the preposition in if you like.
لقد عاشوا فقرا متقعا / في فقر متقع لسنوات طويلة

wow Other one your a good critic. I agree with you. the translator her is affected by the source language structure and system. I think that he did not gve attention to his the target structure as much as for the target meaning. and that is what caused the problem.

Most translators are not aware that it is not only the meaning that they transform, but everything goes under the word language and that is meaning, Syntax, layout, punctuation... etc.
